Shangri La

Also known as: Blakely Rock Reef

Shangri La is an expansive rock structure at the southeast side of Blakely Rock that both Emerald Diving and Sea Otter review as a boat dive. The reef is broken into small walls, ledges and boulders; Sea Otter reaches it about 40 ft below the buoy and follows it to about 85 ft, and Emerald Diving puts most of the interesting structure between 45 and 90 ft. Wolf eels are seen frequently, from about two feet to over four feet long according to Sea Otter, and giant Pacific octopus are common. Emerald Diving notes a wide variety of colourful invertebrates including large sea lemon nudibranchs. PNW Diving lists it as a highly recommended boat dive in Central Puget Sound.
