Seacrest Cove 1
Also known as: Alki Cove 1 · Seacrest Park Cove 1
Seacrest Cove 1 sits next to the better known Cove 2 at Seacrest Park and offers an alternative entry when parking or the water there is crowded. The bottom is a gentle muddy slope that is sheltered from wind and tide, which makes it a common training site. Divers regularly find stubby squid, and painted anemones and creeping pedal sea cucumbers have also been reported. In deep water lies a large concrete block called the monolith, believed to be an old commercial-diving practice structure. Like Coves 2 and 3, it belongs to a WDFW octopus preserve.
