Possession Point Fingers

Also known as: Possession Fingers · Possession Point Reef

Possession Point Fingers is a series of vertical clay, sandstone and rock projections whose ledges and sheer drops make unusual underwater terrain. The clay walls are full of gunnels and small creatures, octopus hide in the crevices, and PNW Diving reports a bottom carpeted with coonstripe shrimp on some dives. Emerald Diving counts at least eight rockfish species and some unusual invertebrates. Current is dynamic, so the site is dived at slack or on a mild flood, and runoff from the Snohomish River often reduces visibility. Boat traffic is moderate to heavy, so a surface marker buoy is recommended.
