Hin Bida
Also known as: Phi Phi Shark Point · Shark Point Phi Phi
This submerged rock lies in open water south-east of Koh Bida Nok and is usually reached by day boats from Phi Phi. Its slopes are covered in soft corals, anemones with clownfish, barrel sponges and staghorn coral, with giant clams scattered around. Schools of blue-lined snappers, fusiliers and barracuda swim around the rock, and moray eels, lobsters and octopus hide in the cracks. The main attraction is the leopard sharks resting on the sand around the base or cruising slowly past. It is a different site from the better known Shark Point (Hin Musang) between Phuket and Phi Phi.
