Castles
Castles lies on the western wall of Osprey Reef, between Admiralty and North Horn. Its unusual profile is made of many gullies and trenches that weave between turrets and towers of coral. The shallow lagoon slopes down to about 30 metres, where it meets the edge of the wall that drops to a thousand metres. Caves of different sizes and an overhang full of gorgonian fans add to the scenery. Garden eels, clown triggerfish, painted crayfish, giant Queensland groupers and whitetip reef sharks are among the residents.
