Around the Bend

Also known as: Round the Bend

Around the Bend starts on a wall of Osprey Reef that drops about a thousand metres and is usually dived as a drift around a bend of the reef back to the mooring line. Its best-known feature is an isolated bommie off the wall where manta rays come to be cleaned, a spot operators recommend to experienced divers. Hammerheads, silvertips, grey reef sharks and dogtooth tuna are seen along the wall, which is covered in gorgonian fans and soft corals. Near the mooring a shallow trench carved into the reef makes a good place for the safety stop and for looking at small creatures.
