Admiralty

Also known as: Admiralty Anchor

Admiralty lies at the southern side of the only entrance to the Osprey lagoon. Closely packed bommies are cut by sandy gullies and canyons that lead up into the lagoon, giving the site the feel of a coral village. The highlight is a narrow tunnel in which a centuries-old, heavily encrusted admiralty anchor is wedged, making for a memorable swim-through. Garden eels cover the sand, whitetip and grey reef sharks patrol the reef, and eagle rays and occasionally manta rays pass along the wall. Operators use it as a favourite afternoon and night dive, when flashlight fish glow inside the tunnel.
