Lankan Caves

The reef top lies at about 5 to 7 m with hard and table corals, and the reef drops beyond 30 m. Gorgonians, sea fans and black corals grow in the caves, and green turtles rest or swim by. Napoleon wrasse, tuna, eagle rays, jacks and grey, whitetip and blacktip reef sharks pass, mantas and mobulas are possible, and with a lot of luck a hammerhead. Dives start either near Lankan Manta Point or, in weaker current, at the channel entrance.
