Tongo Point

Also known as: Tongo Point Marine Sanctuary · Tongo

Tongo Point lies inside one of Moalboal's marine sanctuaries at the southern point of the peninsula (Wannadive calls it the Copton peninsula), and Cebu Fun Divers ranks it among its three best sites. A reef top with hard and soft corals leads to a dramatic drop-off with several small caves filled with corals, gorgonians and colourful sponges. Neptune says the site is best known for its electric clams and large purple fans, where small crustaceans and seahorses hide in the late afternoon. Frogfish, scorpionfish, ghost pipefish, batfish, sweetlips, leaf fish and both green and hawksbill turtles are seen, and with luck eagle rays or a whale shark.
