Western Rocky
Also known as: Western Rocky Island
The tunnel crosses the island from south to north and stays faintly lit by daylight along its roughly 30 m length, with big spiny lobsters and sometimes nurse sharks inside. Operators advise taking the larger right-hand exit, as the left passage is very tight. On the south side a large cavern and a sunlit archway add more overhead scenery, and the islets off the main rock can be dived on their own. The walls are covered in sponges, soft corals and clams, with frogfish, seahorses and harlequin shrimp hidden in the cracks. Whale sharks and bowmouth guitarfish are among the rarer visitors, and the site is a favourite for night dives.
