Shark Cave

Also known as: Three Islets · Three Stooges · In Through The Out Door

The cave opens as a wide cavern on the northwest corner of the middle islet and narrows into a tunnel that exits on the east side. Its ceiling is lined with orange cup corals and its floor with yellow sponges, and a small hole gives access to a lower chamber where nurse sharks have been seen. Outside, seamounts between the islets are covered in soft corals and gorgonians, with dense schools of snapper and fusiliers. The reef is also rich in small life such as ghost pipefish, seahorses, harlequin shrimp and frogfish. Surge can make the canyon and tunnel tricky at times.
