Uepi Welcome Jetty

Also known as: Welcome Jetty

The Welcome Jetty lies on the edge of the channel in front of Uepi Island Resort and is best dived on an incoming tide. Divers settle at about 5 m in front of the jetty and wait for the resident grey reef sharks, which come close out of curiosity; the owners have dived with them for more than 30 years. The deeper part of the dive starts at a small cave below the pier with flashing file shells, reaches the foot of Shark Bombie just beyond 30 m, and returns up a wall at 15 m with sea fans and a chance of pygmy seahorses. Giant clams grow around the jetty, stingrays rest on the sand, and the wall is also used for easy night dives.
