The Elbow

Also known as: Uepi Elbow · Elbow Point

The Elbow is the point of Uepi Island that pushes furthest out into The Slot, which gives it some of the clearest water around the island. Its steep wall is covered with gorgonian fans, sea whips and soft corals from the top down as far as light reaches. Grey whaler sharks, trevally, barracuda, eagle rays and turtles are regular visitors, and the resort reports hammerheads in the cooler months. After time on the point, divers explore overhangs, cracks and a few swim-throughs where file shells, cuttlefish and nudibranchs live.
