Mbulo Caves
Also known as: Mbulo Canyons
At the northeast end of Mbulo Island the undercut shoreline forms a labyrinth of caverns, tubes and swim-throughs. When the timing is right, sunbeams slant through the openings and the overhanging vegetation and play across the walls and sand. The sandy floors host blind shrimps and their partner gobies, and turtles are common. Outside, hard corals pile on top of each other and large sea fans reach towards open water, with schools of reef squid at times. The site is also good for snorkelling.
