Kavachi Corner

Also known as: Kavachi Korner

Kavachi Corner is a current-swept wall at Kicha Island where the noise of the nearby submarine volcano carries especially well, sometimes loud enough to startle divers. Schools of rainbow runners, barracuda, snappers and bigeye jacks pour over the point, with grey reef sharks always nearby and silvertip sharks and dogtooth tuna at times. Mobula rays and giant trevally are also reported. The fan-covered wall hides twin-spot lionfish and comets, and the shallow reef top has rich hard coral beds, Clark's anemonefish and rare butterflyfish.
