Monad Shoal

Also known as: Shark Point

Monad Shoal is an underwater plateau, locally called a sunken island, sitting on the edge of a drop to about 200 m. For around two decades it was famous for thresher sharks rising at dawn to its cleaning stations, which put Malapascua on the diving map. Since the threshers moved most of their visits to Kimud Shoal around 2022, Monad has become known for tiger sharks, bull sharks and other larger sharks, while manta rays still come in to be cleaned. Devil rays, eagle rays and whitetip reef sharks are also seen. Operators describe it as a more advanced site and recommend nitrox.
