Pointe à Vache
The name recalls the nurse sharks, called sea cows by the Saintois, that once frequented the point. From a mooring at about 5 m, divers follow the wall for a few hundred metres at 15 to 20 m and return along its top between 5 and 10 m. The huge rock blocks that build the wall offer hiding places to large fish such as snappers of several kilos and groupers. Schools of bigeye scad and other small fish above the wall draw jacks, mackerel and barracuda, and the site is rich in vase, tube and barrel sponges, sea squirts and gorgonians. A hawksbill turtle used to divers is sometimes seen.
