Les Augustins
The Augustins form a steep rocky strip about a hundred metres long south of Terre-de-Haut, and this dive explores the end opposite La Vierge, heading east from the mooring. Several coral tables up to a few metres across create overhangs where lobsters hide and lace coral grows. Porcupinefish, spotted drums, French angelfish, moray eels and glassy sweepers are among the regular sightings. Near the mooring a small canyon between 3 and 6 m crosses the tip of the islet. The boat moors on the sheltered south side, away from the swell.
