Madidir

Named after the nearby village, Madidir starts on a sand flat only 2 to 3 m deep where a cargo ship has been sunk. The slope below drops past 20 m to a bottom that Lembeh Resort compares to the craters of the moon, all sand. The site is less predictable than those inside the strait, but can produce an exceptional variety of scorpionfish and stonefish, seahorses, rays, juveniles, pipefish and unusual sea moths and lionfish.
