Divers kit up in the Post multi-storey car park and walk 100 to 200 m to steps on the promenade. A sandy slope suitable for training leads to about 20 m, where a wall begins and continues to about 45 m before the ground steps down further. The wall bends inwards, and from about 35 to 40 m divers can follow an overhang that widens into a half-closed roof. Visibility is often poor in the shallows but clears with every metre once the wall starts. Diving is permitted to the left only, except on 6 January when the local dive group holds its Epiphany dive.
