Guns of Plavnik

Also known as: Cannons at Plavnik · Plavnik cannons

Guns of Plavnik is a sailing ship wreck with cannons, dated by local dive centres to the late 18th or early 19th century. Dive Center Krk believes it was a brig schooner from the Napoleonic campaigns, carrying steel cannons that never reached their destination. The hull has almost completely disappeared, but around 14 cannons remain, fused together in blocks, along with a few traces of the bow and planking. Correct Diving describes the guns as lying as if they still guarded the island from attack by sea. Fun Diving Krk reports occasional seahorses and conger eels around the remains.
