Three Rocks

Three Rocks is a group of three granite rocks just off Jansom Bay at the entrance to Mae Haad Bay, clearly visible above the water from the arriving ferry. Its specialty is the arch: an opening through the middle rock forms a swim-through that is the highlight of the dive. The rocks stand only metres apart on a sandy bottom at about 8 to 10 m and are surrounded by hard corals, including a large table coral, with nudibranchs, wart slugs and flatworms on the rock. Blue-spotted stingrays, moray eels, parrotfish, small yellowtail barracuda, butterflyfish and bannerfish are typical, and one centre also reports blue-ringed octopus and Spanish dancers. Shallow and close to the pier, it is a good site for beginners, training and night dives, when broadclub cuttlefish appear, but it can be too rough to dive in the windy months.
