Hongchaikeng
Also known as: Hung Chai Hang · 紅柴坑 (Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan))
Hongchaikeng lies on a west-facing concave stretch of coast, so currents and waves are weaker than at other west coast sites. Divers enter beside the breakwaters on the south or north side of the harbour and must not surface in the harbour channel. Damselfish and neon snappers fill the shallows, stony corals follow, and at around 12 m tube worms, clownfish and long-antennaed fish gather at cave mouths. Large Porites colonies hide lobsters and pufferfish, and octopus are seen on the reef from February to May. Dive centres recommend it for macro photography.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
