Point Perpendicular

Point Perpendicular is the northern headland of Jervis Bay, named for its cliff of about 100 m. Below the surface smooth boulders form caves and swim-throughs in the shallows, and sponges and colourful gorgonians grow on the reef. Black reef leatherjackets, Port Jackson sharks and plenty of reef fish are common, and grey nurse sharks are reported. Several sites lie along the headland, among them Sponge Gardens about halfway along, with a wall at around 30 m.
