Ann Ann Wreck

Also known as: Ann Ann · An Anne Wreck

The ship went down in 1977 on Abu Faramish reef, which divers also call the 26-Mile Reef, and is the largest wreck dive near Jeddah. For decades it stood upright with the bow driven into the reef, but a storm in 2022 tipped it onto its side, and it now lies between roughly 14 m at the bow and 30 m at the stern. Its rudder and large propeller are covered in soft coral and shellfish, and the emptied cargo rooms, galley and electrical room can be entered by trained divers. Strong currents often bring very good visibility. Blue-striped snappers, blue-spotted stingrays, tuna, barracuda and sometimes whitetip or blacktip reef sharks are seen around the wreck.
