Toshiki

Lava that cooled in the sea formed columnar joints that one guide likens to an accordion, giving the site dramatic volcanic scenery. Sea Sound reports green sea turtles and schools of fish all year and a high chance of hammerheads and large pelagics in the best season. Open-ocean swell and a wave-prone entry mean it can be dived less often than the northern beaches. The current is often running, so PADI Japan advises against pushing on when there is any flow. The tide pool in front of the entry is also recommended for snorkelling.
