Onohama

Also known as: Ohnohama

The area is too large to cover in one dive, with many overhanging rocks and ridges shaped like a horse's back topped by big table corals. Izu Oshima Diving Center says it has the most table coral on the island and the best turtle encounter rate among the northern points. Schools of pinecone fish and small schooling fish are chased by tuna and amberjack in season. Sea Sound mentions a large lava tunnel called the Triple Arch that is reached with an underwater scooter, and columnar joints are also a feature. The swim is long, so shops warn divers to watch their air.
