Hema 1

Built in Germany in 1963, the ship hauled cargo in the Baltic before being renamed Hema 1 under the flag of St. Vincent. She sank on 5 March 2005 on the way to Trinidad when her bilge pump failed in heavy seas, and the coast guard rescued the crew. She lies on her side in about 30 m off Point Salines. The nutrient-rich Atlantic current brings reef sharks, nurse sharks, eagle rays and turtles, and it is usually done as a drift.
