The Landslide

Also known as: El Derrumbe

El Derrumbe, the Landslide, lies on the southeast side of Wolf Island, where part of the cliff has slid into the sea, leaving a boulder-strewn reef that drops into deep water. Divers settle at the edge of the boulders and wait as scalloped hammerheads, often in large numbers, and Galapagos sharks swim up close. Large morays hunt in the open, and eagle rays, turtles, jacks and snappers are common. Whale sharks pass through roughly from June to November. Currents and surge near the rocks can be strong, so this site is intended for experienced divers.
