Punta Cormorant
Also known as: Punta Cormoran · Cormorant Point
Punta Cormorant forms the northern tip of Floreana, about two hours by boat south of Puerto Ayora. The dive starts over sand and rock and follows platforms with small cavities towards a reef, drifting with the current. Red-lipped batfish rest on the sand and the Galapagos sea robin is a speciality. Whitetip and Galapagos sharks, golden and eagle rays, turtles, moray eels and seahorses are seen, and hammerheads have been sighted. If the current is strong, divers may end up near Devil's Crown, where only snorkelling is allowed inside the crater.
