Mosquera North
Mosquera is a flat sand and rock islet formed by uplift, with a large sea lion colony, about 25 minutes by boat from the Itabaca Channel. On the northern side a rocky slope descends to a sandy platform where hundreds of endemic Galapagos garden eels live. Following the coast leads to a reef used as a cleaning station by blacktip sharks, while hammerheads and Galapagos sharks circle in deeper water. Eagle rays, golden rays and mobulas are common. Scuba Iguana considers it suitable for beginners despite the current.
