Gardner Islet
Also known as: Islote Gardner
Gardner Islet lies just outside Gardner Bay on the northeast side of Española and is dived on day trips from San Cristobal. Mini-walls with a sand bottom lead to lava tunnels, large boulders and several caves, one big enough to swim into a large chamber. Sea lions and batfish are common, and when the current increases sharks, rays and even hammerheads appear. The day trip combines the dive with a visit to Española.
