El Bajo
El Bajo is a seamount on the southwest side of Academy Bay, about 15 minutes by boat from Puerto Ayora. It rises from around 40 m to roughly 10 m below the surface. Galapagos Dive Academy uses it for advanced students and certified divers who want current and depth in controlled conditions. Hammerhead and reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, schooling fish and sometimes mating octopuses are seen.
