Cousin's Rock

Also known as: Cousins Rock · Cousins Rocks · Cousin Rock · Cousins

Cousin's Rock is a triangular rock off Santiago whose underwater sides step down in volcanic ledges, overhangs and walls. Black coral, gorgonians and sponges cover the rock, and divers search the crevices for Pacific seahorses, frogfish, hawkfish and nudibranchs. Sea lions play on the shallow platform, and schooling eagle rays, mobulas and, in the cold season, mantas pass by. The dive is usually done as a drift along the ledges. Day boats from Santa Cruz and many liveaboards visit it, often together with Bartolome.
