Bibb

Also known as: USCGC Bibb · USCG Bibb

The Bibb was built in 1937, escorted convoys in the Second World War and served in Vietnam before it was prepared as an artificial reef together with the Duane. It lies on its side, so the dive runs along the hull and the angled superstructure rather than over a deck. The shallowest part, the port rail, is reached at around 95 feet, which keeps it in advanced territory. Its position near the Gulf Stream brings very clear water, sharks, goliath groupers and barracuda, but strong currents can also make the wreck undiveable. Penetration is not recommended because of entanglement risks.
