Espalamaca Norte
Also known as: Espalamanca Norte
Protected by the Espalamaca headland, this site is often used when conditions rule out other dives, and it works well for snorkelling and night dives. Large rounded boulders on sand shelter several moray species and octopus, while ornate wrasse, rainbow wrasse, white seabream and big schools of salema swim above. Near 14 m small streams of bubbles escape from the sandy floor, a sign of the island's ongoing volcanic activity. Stingrays, lizardfish and flounders rest among the bubbles.
