Satil Wreck
Also known as: Satil · Sufa Missile Boat · Sufa Wreck
The ship was one of the missile boats taken from the French port of Cherbourg in a 1969 Israeli operation, and after about 25 years in service it was turned into an underwater museum. Its mast rises to roughly 12 m and the deck lies at about 20 m, so a large part of the wreck can be seen without going down to the keel. Soft corals cover the structure, and divers report giant morays, lionfish and rays around it, with turtles passing by now and then. Two memorial plaques are fixed on the wreck. The grassy slope on the way down is a known night dive area with nudibranchs, cuttlefish and, in late winter, sea hares.
