Scalo Maestro
West of the beach, scattered boulders on sand grow larger towards the open sea until they become huge square blocks separated by deep vertical cracks lit by the midday sun. Dense Cystoseira algae forests cover the shallow rock and shelter murex snails, sea urchins and starfish. Wrasse, damselfish, sea bream and gilthead bream feed among the rocks. This picture of the shallow seabed comes from the guidebook's snorkelling route, while Voglia di Mare dives the site to about 18 m.
