Orlata di Cala Martina
Also known as: Cala Martina · Cala Martina I · Cala Martina 1
The boat anchors on a plateau of Posidonia seagrass and rock about 200 m from the coast. From the edge, one wall drops vertically to about 40 m and is covered with red gorgonians, while the other slopes gently to a sandy plain with yellow candelabra sponges and rare fan mussels. A large isolated rock in front of the corner is dressed with yellow gorgonians and hides big lobsters. Basket stars are often found on the white gorgonians, and amberjacks, congers and morays are regular sightings.
