Omohi

Also known as: Omohi rocks

Omohi is one of the signature dives of Rapa Nui. Large volcanic cracks run through the bottom and open into caverns in places, where a torch reveals soldierfish and lobsters waiting for the night. On the upper platform a layer of coral covers the broken rock, visited by butterflyfish, jacks, trumpetfish, angelfish and pufferfish. Rapa Nui Dive Center adds shallows with small crevices and the local black jack, ruhi. Because the site lies about 5 km from the bay, that centre needs at least four divers to go.
