Amphitrite Cave

Also known as: Amphitrite

Amphitrite Cave has been surveyed down to its bottom at 60 m. Its stalactites, stalagmites and columns could only form in air, which shows that the cave was once above sea level. On a normal dive the group enters through one of the openings and stops on sand at about 14 m, from where torches light up the formations deeper inside. The rest of the dive follows a wall with plenty of fish, and the long sea cucumber Synaptula reciprocans is often seen.
