The site takes its name from the curved rock formations that resemble a natural amphitheatre. Chania Diving describes a gentle slope with a small cavern entrance along the route, lit by natural light, which beginners can explore safely. Scubahellas describes a complex of caverns with a large tunnel and several smaller chambers. Sponges, soft corals and small life cover the rock. The site stays shallow, at about 6 to 18 m.
