Maherida
Also known as: Macherida
Maherida is protected from wind, so the bay is usually calm and clear. Its main feature is a large Posidonia meadow, a habitat that shelters many Mediterranean species. Between the seagrass lie sandy patches and rocks with sponges, anemones and shells. Octopus, moray eels, groupers and nudibranchs are regularly seen. The modest depth allows long, relaxed dives and good conditions for macro photography.
