La Francesa

Also known as: Punta Francesa · La Francesca

Small reef heads rise from a large sandy area and form ridges with cuts, overhangs and small caves. The ridges give shelter from the current, which helps photographers. Permit cruise above the reef, and turtles, black groupers, cowfish, filefish and queen angelfish are common. Splendid toadfish hide in holes along the ridges, and southern stingrays rest on the sand. The name comes from Punta Francesa, the point on the shore.
