Alex's Cave
Also known as: Cominotto Cave · Alex Cave
The dive starts in calm water near the Blue Lagoon or the Crystal Lagoon, which makes it a useful choice when wind rules out the more exposed Comino sites. On the way divers pass a tunnel with a hole in its roof and the pinnacle known as Mushroom Rock. The cave mouth is wide and bright, but after a bend the chamber turns dark and a torch is needed. Its sandy floor calls for good buoyancy control. At the back divers can surface in a chamber with fresh air where daylight enters through a small chimney. Shrimps live on the walls and ceiling, and Paradise Diving reports a resident conger eel it calls Alex.
