Channels
Channels lies just west of Cat Rock on the ocean side of West Anacapa Island. Fingers of clean white sand reach into the reef and narrow between mini-walls, overhangs and small caves, while kelp and surf grass grow on top of the rocks. Schools of pile perch and black perch drift through the kelp corridors, and curious harbor seals often approach divers from behind. The shallow depth makes it a popular last dive of the day and an excellent wide-angle site. Macro life is only modest, and surge can be felt in the shallows.
