Cavala
Cavala is one of the deep dives of Sal and is only offered to experienced divers. A vertical wall begins at about 25 to 28 m and runs down to around 40 m, where an overhang shelters a sandy ledge at 42 m before the wall falls away again into the deep. Yellow cup corals cover much of the rock, and there is also a cave. Schools of jacks, turtles and stingrays are seen, and between May and September bull sharks can appear. In season divers may even hear humpback whales singing.
