Calderinha

A steamship ran aground on the southwest corner of Sal in the early twentieth century after a navigation error. Little of it remains apart from its big boiler, which is the landmark where the dive begins. From there the route leads through a gorge of about 19 m that is home to a wide range of local marine life. The site lies about ten minutes by boat from Santa Maria.
