Roche Zozo
Also known as: Roches Zozo
Roche Zozo rises off the coast of Mahébourg, close to Ile de la Passe, outside the shelter of the lagoon. Its walls are split by faults and caves, and at around 20 m a plateau leads into a tunnel that opens into a parallel canyon. A second tunnel curves upward and brings divers back into the same canyon higher up. Pink coral, sponges and rare black coral cover the cavities, and schools of barracuda patrol the site. The open sea here can be rough, and divers have described strong currents that make the short tunnels hard work. Scuba World Diving Mauritius counts it among its five-star sites.
