El Faro
El Faro, 'the lighthouse', is one of the Saona sites dived from Bayahibe. Filter-feeding sponges and soft corals cover the wall face, and turtles come to feed on the sponges. Large grey stingrays lie half-buried in the sand at the base, and arrow crabs hide in the reef. Current is usually gentle and visibility reaches about 25 m.
